Novel physical hydrogels based on hyaluronic acid: synthesis and rheological properties.

France / Франция

Due to its unique viscoelastic properties and biological activity, hyaluronic acid (HA) has become an attractive building block for the development of new biocompatible materials with many applications in viscosupplementation, tissue engineering and drug delivery. HA is a linear polysaccharide, belonging to the glycosaminoglycan family. At physiological pH, it is negatively charged and it is a component of the synovial fluid, cartilage, vitreous humour and extracellular matrices.
